Traveling Safely - Part Three of Four - Travel Procedures and Restrictions currently in place

 *updated April 19, 2021*

Okay, so you are READY to pack your bags and head somewhere other than your living room or maybe the back patio.  But where can you go?  What do you need to know before you go there?  There is a lot of information to sift through, and it's constantly updating.  So I plan to come back and update this with additional informtion as it becomes available.  The situation with the travel industry guidelines and restrictions is fluent - which means it's constantly changing, sometimes daily.  Please also remember, this is just a snapshot for each destination - so when you narrow down the destination you want to go to, feel free to reach out and we can dig further into the requirements while we plan your trip.

Popular Destinations:

Disney Destinations:

Walt Disney World - All four theme parks plus Blizzard Beach Water park are open to visitors.  Park Pass Reservations are required for the four theme parks.  It's important to plan ahead - especially during peak travel times, park pass reservations have been selling out.  Park hours have been reduced, and park capacities have lowered.  FastPass + is currently suspended, but with the park capacities being lowered, it's still possible to get through the parks and see most, if not all of the attractions! Masks are required for guests ages 2 and up. They do have designated areas in the parks that you can sit and remove your mask, socially distances from other park guests. Parks are still taking temperatures as you arrive to the security gates to ensure you do not have a fever.  Not all resorts have reopened on site.  The resorts are going through a phased reopening.   Check THIS PAGE to stay up to date on what you need to know, before you go

Disneyland - We now know that Disneyland plans to finally open it's gates on April 30th to California Residents.  We assume they will have the same health and safety procedures in place that WDW has, but we will know more once they open their doors.  When the parks reopen, Disney's Grand Californian resort will reopen, and then Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier will reopen later in a phased reopening.  We do not have dates for their reopening.  Theme parks can reopen at 15% capacity for counties in the Red Tier. That capacity increases to 25% in the Orange Tier and 35% in the Yellow Tier.Check THIS PAGE to stay up to date on what you need to know, before you go

Disney's Aulani - Aulani has begun a phased reopening.  Rooms, experienced and amenities may be modified or unavailable during the reopening.  Capacity has been limited.  Advanced health and safety measures are in place.  Aulani is located on Hawaii's island of Oahu.  See below for more information regarding traveling to Hawaii.

Universal Destinations:

Universal Orlando's three parks - Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios and their water park Volcano Bay are all open with limited capacities.  When you stay onsite at a Universal resort, your temperature is taken when arriving at the hotel, and they give you a wristband that is good for the day.  This wristband will work for when you travel to City Walk and the parks.  If you are not staying at an onsite resort, you will need to have your temperature taken upon arrival at City Walk.  Additional health and safety measures are taking place across the parks and resorts.  Masks are required for guests aged 3 and up.  They do have 'rest areas' set up in the parks to give you a place to sit and remove your mask, socially distanced from other guests.

Universal Studios Hollywood - Universal Studios in Hollywood will reopen it's doors on April 16th to California Residents.  Experiences and attractions will be limited to comply with local government regulations.  Capacity will be limited.  Theme parks can reopen at 15% capacity for counties in the Red Tier. That capacity increases to 25% in the Orange Tier and 35% in the Yellow Tier.

Cruises:
The CDC has released additional information that will hopefully lead to the resumption of cruises in the United States.  Royal Caribbean cruise line has recently extended their season in Singapore, sailing with the Quantum of the Seas.  They also just added cruises out of Bermuda and the Bahamas.  Currently for the Bermuda and Bahamas cruises, vaccinations are required for passengers 18+, and a negative Covid test for passengers under 18.  We do not anticipate Vaccinations will be a requirement for all future cruises, but this is a guideline set in place to get the cruises sailing again.

Hawaii - currently, the islands of Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Hawaii are continuing with the state's Safe Travels pre-travel testing program.  The Island of Kauai joins the Safe Travels program for Trans-pacific travel effective April 5th.  People traveling to these islands must have their negative test results prior to departing as an alternative to Hawaii’s mandatory 10-day quarantine.  To stay up to date with Hawaii's travel requirements, visit this page for the current information.

International Destinations:

Effective January 26, all airline passengers to the United States ages two years and older must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel. Alternatively, travelers to the U.S. may provide documentation from a licensed health care provider of having recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days preceding travel.  Check the CDC website for additional information and Frequently Asked Questions.  Many hotels and resorts offer an antigen test for free or at a discount if you are staying a minimum number of nights.  If you test positive, you will be required to quarantine.  Many hotels and resorts are offering a free/discounted limited night stay if you are required to quarantine.  It is very important to be aware of your resort's policies.  If you are flying to an international Destination that is not a U.S. Territory, you are required to present a Valid US Passport. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the return date of your trip.

Mexico
Currently, you do not need to take a covid test or have a vaccination to travel to Mexico.  When you travel home, you will be required to follow the guidelines for traveling back to the United States from a foreign country.

Jamaica
Effective March 4, 2021, all travellers to Jamaica 12 years of age and over (regardless of nationality) are required to present a negative Covid-19 PCR or Antigen test result to check in for a flight to Jamaica.  The test must be taken within 3 days of the travel date.  For the most up to date information regarding travel to Jamaica, you can visit this page.
