A twist on the '4 gifts for Christmas' trend

A twist on the '4 Gifts for Christmas' trend

The last couple of years, I have heard many people try to follow the '4 gifts' guidelines.  Rather than overloading our kids with toys they will ultimately forget about or lose, or way overspend and then regret later, we focus on 4 important gifts.  Something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read.  In our family, we add one more thing to that list to round it out to 5.  Something to DO!  In the past, we have done annual passes to our local science center, the zoo, and even a surprise trip to Disneyland before visiting the grandparents.  This year, instead of spending way too much and buying tons of gifts they don't really need, plan a Christmas they will surely remember.  It is a hard adjustment if you have been known to pile the tree high in the past, but making an effort to have gifts that are truly memorable will really mean something to your kids.  If you're interested in planning a trip to surprise your kids with for the holidays, I'm here to help you with all of your needs - even ideas for how to surprise them, and maybe squeeze it in under the tree :).  It doesn't have to be a trip to Disney - what about an Amtrak vacation visiting some of our country's most treasured sights? Step into the world of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando or Hollywood and let your reader live out their magical fantasies.  Or a cruise to see new countries and enjoy the sunshine when it may not be sunny at home.  There are plenty of options, once you look for them!
